• Fires .22-caliber pellets using a variable pump pneumatic powerplant that requires no external CO2 tanks
• Single-shot design allows direct chamber loading without relying on rotary magazines
• Variable pump mechanism lets the shooter regulate pressure for indoor plinking or outdoor targets
• Durable black synthetic stock provides a weather-resistant exterior for regular field use

Cons

• Features standard black synthetic furniture rather than commemorative 100-year hardwood or steel parts
• Single-shot pump action requires manual pumping between shots instead of offering rapid follow-up fire
• Mounting rail dimensions and optic compatibility are not listed and must be confirmed before buying rings

Uses 12g CO2 cartridges to cycle .177-caliber pellets semi-automatically, offering continuous shooting without the manual pumping required by the C362.

Pros & cons43

Pros

• Semi-automatic RepeatAir action fires .177 pellets rapidly without manual cocking or pumping
• Powered by 12-gram CO2 cartridges for smooth, consistent cycling during target practice
• Synthetic black stock withstands outdoor moisture and damp conditions during plinking sessions
• Shoots .177-caliber pellets through a rifled system rather than smoothbore steel BBs

Cons

• Fires smaller .177 pellets rather than the harder-hitting .22 caliber found on the Crosman 362
• Standard packaging does not include CO2 cartridges, requiring separate purchase before use
• Velocity decreases in cold outdoor temperatures due to standard CO2 pressure drop

What distinguishes the Crosman 362 100 Year Anniversary Edition from the standard C362?

The standard Crosman Classic C362 .22-Caliber Variable Pump Single-Shot Air Rifle features a black synthetic build, whereas commemorative anniversary editions were produced with special collector appointments. Because both rifles share the underlying 362 designation and often appear side by side in search results, confirm the stock material, breech construction, and anniversary markings on the product page before ordering. If the listing specifies a standard black synthetic finish without commemorative markings, it is the standard workhorse model rather than the anniversary run.

What caliber and power plant does the Crosman 362 use?

The Crosman Classic C362 is a .22-caliber variable pump pneumatic rifle configured for single-shot operation. Power is generated manually by pumping the forearm handle before loading a single .22 pellet into the chamber. It does not use pre-filled air tanks or disposable gas cartridges, giving you independent control over each shot without external filling equipment.

Is the Crosman 362 100 Year Anniversary Edition still widely available?

Availability for the 100-year edition in 2026 depends heavily on collector markets and secondary dealer inventories. Because commemorative releases are produced in limited production batches, retail inventory sells through quickly. If you need a reliable .22-caliber pump rifle immediately for target practice or pest management, the standard black Crosman Classic C362 provides the ongoing production alternative, or you can check other air rifles for training and pest control that remain readily in stock.

Can you mount a scope or red dot optic on the Crosman 362?

Optic mounting depends on the specific breech configuration installed on your rifle. The baseline black C362 single-shot rifle is built around standard open sights and may require aftermarket mounting blocks or a steel breech conversion to support optical rails. Some special edition releases and custom variations include integrated receiver grooves, so verify whether the breech has built-in dovetail mounting slots before buying scope rings or sights.

Can the Crosman 362 take rotary magazines for faster shooting?

No, the Crosman Classic C362 is built strictly as a single-shot variable pump air rifle. Each .22 pellet must be placed into the loading port manually between pump cycles. Multi-shot accessories such as the Crosman 407T replacement 10-round rotary magazine are designed specifically for semi-automatic models like the Crosman 1077 RepeatAir and do not fit the C362 action.

How does a variable pump pneumatic rifle differ from a CO2 air rifle?

A variable pump air rifle like the single-shot C362 compresses air internally with each stroke of the pump arm, requiring no consumables other than pellets. In contrast, models like the .177-caliber Crosman 1077 RepeatAir pellet gun or the Crosman CFAR1X full-auto BB rifle run on 12-gram CO2 cartridges to deliver semi-automatic or rapid firing. If your primary goal is fast, consecutive shooting rather than manual pumping, an option like a CO2 BB gun for plinking offers a completely different shooting pace.
