Is the 50 FPS speed advantage of the TX Ultra 29.5 worth the extra frame length in a ground blind?

The TX Ultra 29.5 delivers 460 FPS compared to the 410 FPS of the TX Ultra 26.5, but the extra three inches of overall frame can make turning inside tight blind windows difficult. The TX Ultra 26.5 is TenPoint's shortest forward draw crossbow, designed specifically to prevent limbs and cams from striking blind walls or shooting rails. If you primarily hunt from ladder stands or open box blinds where length is not a constraint before bow hunting season starts in 2026, the 460 FPS rating of the 29.5 model gives you a flatter arrow trajectory. For cramped fabric ground blinds, the 410 FPS speed of the 26.5 provides plenty of downrange power while preserving vital clearance.

Do both TX Ultra models feature the ACUslide MAXX system?

Yes, both the TX Ultra 26.5 and the TX Ultra 29.5 come standard with the ACUslide MAXX cocking and de-cocking system. This mechanism allows you to cock the bow silently and safely de-cock it without having to fire a bolt into a target at the end of legal light. The built-in design is especially useful in confined stands or blinds because you do not have to store, attach, or maneuver separate cocking ropes in cold weather.

Which optic packages can you get with the TX Ultra 26.5 versus the TX Ultra 29.5?

Both crossbows offer configurations with the TenPoint Vision HD 3-12x digital rangefinding scope as well as the Burris Oracle X rangefinding scope. For non-digital optics, the TX Ultra 26.5 is paired with the 100-Yard RangeMaster scope, whereas the TX Ultra 29.5 is available with the EVO-X Marksman Elite scope. Choosing a rangefinding scope like the Vision HD 3-12x or the Burris Oracle X eliminates the movement of using an external rangefinder when game approaches quickly.

Are the TX Ultra 26.5 and 29.5 equipped with an ambidextrous safety?

Yes, both models feature an ambidextrous safety switch across their standard packages. This allows right-handed and left-handed shooters to manipulate the safety silently without altering their shooting hand position on the grip. It also lets you switch shoulders smoothly to take an awkward angle from a tree stand before bow season ends in 2026.

What finishes are available on the TX Ultra platforms?

Both the TX Ultra 26.5 and TX Ultra 29.5 are available in Vektra camo and Moss Green finish options. The Vektra pattern is tailored to break up the crossbow profile in wooded tree stands, while Moss Green provides a solid, subdued presentation inside shadow-filled ground blinds. Finish availability depends on the specific scope package you select, so verify the color option listed with your chosen optic configuration.

How much difference does the 50 FPS velocity gap make for whitetail hunting?

The 460 FPS rating on the TX Ultra 29.5 makes it TenPoint's fastest forward draw crossbow, providing tighter downrange arrow grouping and less drop over distance than the 410 FPS TX Ultra 26.5. However, 410 FPS remains exceptionally fast and delivers complete arrow pass-through capability on big game. The choice comes down to whether you need maximum trajectory forgiveness on longer field shots or the reduced frame size of the 26.5 model for maneuvering in thick brush and compact blinds.
