4 Umarex Notos Crk 22 of 2026 For Backyard Pest Control

Oct 11, 2026 8:19 AM

A compact PCP carbine listing promises a quiet, backyard-ready tack driver right out of the box, but unboxing day often brings the sudden stall of an empty cylinder and a bare receiver rail. Without open sights in the carton or high-pressure charging gear on hand, an afternoon pest patrol turns into an unexpected waiting game. Grabbing spare rotary magazines off the shelf without double-checking receiver codes can easily leave shooters with feeding gear that binds or refuses to seat. That mismatch drains time, leading to incompatible accessories and delayed shooting instead of quick pest control.

Settling into a lawn chair with a filled reservoir, smooth indexing, and a dialed sight turns property maintenance into a quiet, effortless routine. Avoiding common setup snags comes down to matching receiver item numbers to compatible sight bases, confirming fill probe fittings beforehand, and picking magazines engineered specifically for this .22 caliber platform. Once the charging method and optics line up, zeroing in on garden targets feels natural and fast. Here is how the primary setups compare so every piece works together smoothly on day one.

Which factory open sights fit the Umarex Notos Gen 2 .22 receiver directly?

The Umarex Notos Fiber Optic Adjustable Open Sight Set (part number 2254851) fits the Notos Gen 2 receiver directly. This factory set includes front and rear sights built specifically for Umarex Notos Gen 2 PCP air rifle item numbers 2254852 and 2254871. Confirm the item number on your rifle receiver or original packaging before ordering to verify that the sights match your specific hardware.

Does a .22 caliber PCP air rifle setup include a hand pump for filling?

It depends on the exact package you select. Complete kits such as the Crosman C3622SKT .22-Caliber PCP Air Rifle bundle a dedicated hand pump in the box, but standalone PCP carbines often ship as bare guns without air charging gear. Always check the product description to confirm whether fill equipment is included so you avoid unexpected delays before your first shooting session. If you are comparing different platforms for pest management, reviewing a tactical air rifle package can help you see what accessories different brands supply.

Are Umarex rotary magazines interchangeable between the Notos and other air rifle models?

No, Umarex rotary magazines are platform-specific and do not interchange freely across different models. For example, the Umarex Emerge magazine (part number 2251387) is designed specifically for the Umarex Emerge platform and will not fit or feed correctly in a Notos carbine receiver. Always verify the exact part number and model compatibility in your manual before ordering replacement magazines for a .22 caliber airgun.

What adjustments do the factory Notos Gen 2 fiber optic sights offer?

The rear sight on the Umarex Notos fiber optic set (part number 2254851) adjusts for both windage and elevation to help fine-tune your point of impact. The set includes both front and rear components in a black finish engineered for item numbers 2254852 and 2254871. These adjustments let you dial in precise pellet placement for backyard plinking or pest control without needing to mount an external glass optic.

Can you use BB magazines like the Makarov clip in a .22 pellet airgun?

No, BB clips cannot feed pellets or fit into a .22 caliber air rifle receiver. Accessories like the Umarex Makarov 18-round magazine are built strictly for a dedicated CO2 BB gun firing round steel shot. Always check your airgun manual to select rotary magazines engineered exclusively for .22 caliber pellets to prevent feeding jams and protect your rifling.
